Our day in London at John Lewis Peter Jones store was very encouraging despite the appalling weather, customers were interested in the hat kits and came along to chat and watch some proceedures of making a Fascinator hat. Hat kits were purchased for Christmas and secret Santa gifts. We had a fun day meeting lots of lovely people who were surprised that we were the Millinery Designers behind the Hat kits. Many of the customers thought we were members of the John lewis staff as we were dressed in black (but wearing hats) and we did our best to direct customers to the right departments.

Dressmaking Little Black Dress

Working from a commercial pattern this 2 day course will give you the opportunity to make your own Little Black Dress that fits!

During the 2 days you will alter a pattern, make and adjust a toile to fit you!  Discover how to construct a georgous lined dress by using lovely,  good, quality fabrics and learn special  techniques for fitting the lining and inserting invisible zips, in  your one off party dress!

John Lewis In-store

Exciting news!!!

 Two styles of the hat kits are now available to buy not only from the website, but also in 17 of John Lewis stores in the UK. Angela and Carol will be doing instore demonstrations before Christmas and in the New Year at the John Lewis Peter Jones store at Sloane Square London on the 13th December, customers will be able to meet Angela and Carol and get tips on how to customise the hat kits to make them unique!!

During the half term we ran two 2 day recidencies on behalf of CFBT for 2 Lincoln schools making creative and unusual headpieces for the Lincoln Arts catwalk fashion show in June 2009.

Dressmaking for Beginners

Get inspired, why not learn how to sew in time for the party season by coming to our dressmaking for beginners workshop. The dressmaking course runs for 4 weeks and will give you the skills to be able make a simple garment from scratch or customise one of last years fashion favourites into something new for Christmas. Our next dressmaking for beginners course starts on the evening of 27th October at 7pm-9pm or our afternoon course starts on Tuesday 4th November at 2pm-4pm. click here for further information

Hat Making Hen Days

Hat making Hen Days are a good excuse to spend time with a group of friends doing something fun and creative especially if you have a special event to celebrate. Our next Hat making Hen day is on Saturday 17th Jan, so book early for a fun filled afternoon of Fascinator making

Hat making Days cost £55 per person and include a Hatsonheads  Designer  Hat making kit , plus a Designer Hat box to take your Designer hat home in. Invite your girlfriends for an afternoon of plenty of girly fun, take home your own frilly, fancy feathery fascinator hat.

Commercial patterns however numerous, can limit the scope of the dressmaker especially as many of us are not standard sizes and can find it difficult even to get a pattern to fit so why not make your own!
